Dr Alam qualified from the University of Manchester in 2001 and joined the surgery in August 2007.

He leads the Diabetic Clinic at the practice with Dr Jain and jointly runs the Baby clinic with Dr Chew.  He is the lead in Cancer Care Reviews.

He is a clinical board member at the local CCG and is a member of various Committees.

Dr Chew graduated from Sheffield university in 2001 and undertook her postgraduate training in Hull and Greater Manchester. She worked in Anaesthetics for four and half years then transferred to GP training in 2007.  She worked as a salaried GP between 2010 and 2012 at Littleborough Group Practice then took up the post at Edenfield Road Surgery in 2012 becoming a partner in 2015.

She has interests in Female and sexual Health, Chronic pain, Minor Surgery Clinics which involve the excision of skin lesions, Cryotherapy and Steroid injections.  Dr Chew fits and removes the Contraceptive Implants and Coils.

Dr Chew works with Dr Alam in the weekly Baby Clinic and is a tutor for Manchester Medical Students.  Dr Chew is the Practice Lead GP for Palliative Care and has monthly meetings with the District Nurses and Palliative Care Nurses to discuss patients on the Gold Standard Framework Register.

Dr Omofuma joined the practice fully in February 2018. He's an Experienced GP with a background in Emergency medicine. His special interests include Mental Health which he is the clinical Lead, Teaching medical students ,Minor Surgery, steroid Joint injections and sexual/Reproductive health. He also sits on the Board of the Rochdale Health Alliance representing Rochdale West.

Dr Jain Joined Edenfield Road Surgery in July 2020.  Her special interests are diabetes management, women's health, joint injections and cryotherapy for warts and verruca's.

Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners write prescriptions and make referrals when required. They are experienced nurse who have gone through a high level of training.  They have their own specialist area and greatly improve access to the surgery

Donald is also a trained and experienced prescriber, and is working independently.
In addition to holding surgery sessions and carrying out nursing home visits, Donald will be helping our practice nurses with some aspects of management of chronic illness cases and helping to ease pressure on our appointment system.

Our fully trained practice nurses provide support services including cervical smears, immunisation, advice on nursing and dietary problems. The nurses also assist the doctors in minor surgery sessions and play a large part in the clinics we run.

The HCAs have been trained to carry out a variety of clinical tests as well as simply taking blood. You may be asked to book an appointment with them if the doctor or nurse wants you have a test done.

Practice Manager

Judith is employed by the doctors to co-ordinate the management of the building, staff and systems. Her role also includes liaising with the CCG on planning of services and ensuring that resources are in place to provide those services including meeting the requirements of a changing NHS. Her role is very wide ranging so certain aspects are delegated to her deputy Lynsey Wild and other staff as listed below, but Judith is ultimately responsible for them. Judith is almost always present at any meetings with patients to discuss comments complaints or suggestions.

Deputy Practice Manager

Is responsible for assisting the Practice Manager in the day-to-day organisation of the Practice including attending and minuting Practice Meetings, supporting the Manager in organising the General maintenance within the Practice, assists in recruiting Practice staff and is responsible for all Clinican sessions and rotas

Clinical Co-Ordinator

The Clincial Co-ordinator is responsible for the organisation of various clinics offered by the practice. Their role includes interrogating the computer system for patients who are due for recall for a number of clinics or test procedures, sending out invitation letters and following up patients who do not respond.

Administration Team

The administration team ensure that the necessary information is entered onto our computer system from incoming correspondence for use by the doctors and nursing staff in treatment of our patients. They run our results line, and do all the booking and scheduling of screening tests, diabetes and asthma clinics etc. 

The Reception staff are trained Care navigators and are there to direct you to the most appropriate service.

NPharm  (Bradford 2012)

Imran has been brought in to improve access at the busiest times of the week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. He also performs some minor illness sessions under supervision by the doctors, and is available to answer medication queries.
